2012 Round 5 SL1 – Dandenong City (0) v North Geelong Warriors (0)

The first time these two clubs have met in competition and there was an air of anticipation around the Frank Holohan Reserve, with many wandering what the contest will bring. Most believed a tight affair would prevail, well they were on the money this week, however that didn’t stop the faithful from adding some colour into the afternoon with the friendly and hospitable hosts in Dandenong City providing for fun afternoon.

2012 Round 4 SL1 – North Geelong Warriors (2) v Springvale White Eagles (2)

The scene was set for a mouth watering clash. Warriors fresh off its first loss in 2012 in Round 4 of the State Knockout Cup looking to redeem themselves from a sluggish performance, Springvale fresh from a victory in the same competition meant that back to business in the Division 1 fixture we were anticipating a classic. However it wasn’t the classic expected in terms of performance throughout the match but glimpses of what the pundits came to see unveiled in the last 30 mins which created a tense and nervous match.

2012 State knockout cup Round 4 Ballarat vs North Geelong

The Warriors made the trek up the Midland Highway to the eagerly awaiting Ballarat Red Devils for Round 4 of the State Knockout Cup. The Warriors line up contained only 2 starters from the previous week’s State 1 win over Western Suburbs providing the fringe players much needed time on the park to face industriuos opposition such as Ballarat.

2012 Round 3 SL1 – Western Suburbs (1) v North Geelong (2)

The Round 3 clash for North Geelong against Western Suburbs lived up to the battle that was expected. Suburbs are known to be a more physical side and The Warriors more fleet of foot, both sides kept their intensity throughout the match which was a delight to see. At no point could you say that either side was in full control of the match which is what added to the tension packed match.

2012 Round 2 SL1 – North Geelong (2) v Port Melbourne (2)

Saturday’s first home match for the Warriors will leave its fans with very mixed reviews to chew the fat over for the next few days. It wasn’t the prettiest game in the world, best described as an arm wrestle. Both sides had their fair share of opportunities to stamp their authority, but due the their resilience as well as early fatigue thanks to the very warm conditions neither side could find the ascendancy need to snatch all 3 points.

Michael Anderson was the hat trick hero for North Geelong as they did no favors to the relegation fighting Fawkner Blues.

Western Suburbs came back to winning ways away from home beating North Geelong Warriors in a thrilling encounter at Elcho Park.
