2010 Season is underway
Pre Season for 2010 Seniors and Under 21 sides commences today 6th of January at Zillah Crawcour Reserve (off Louis Ct, Newtown) at 6.30pm
The coaches for 2010 have the hard task now of assembling the squads they need to get the results we’re after.
Senior coach Vinko Buljubasic and assistant John Hrkac take the helm again and will have a tough assignment ahead of them to have the squad step up to the rigours of Division 1 football. It is a very important year for the entire Geelong region as North Geelong as the highest placed Geelong region team have a responsibility to provide Geelong a team to be proud of and perform well, this will in turn ensure that Geelong has a presence at the highest levels of State League.
The committee and coaching staff are confident that the talent is there to upset a lot of teams and if the results fall the right way we could see last years success emulate itself again in 2010. More importantly North Geelong can offer players in the region a pathway for players to work towards a senior gig for a Division 1 and hopefully in the near future, Premier League club.
With Under 21 available to us in place of the traditional reserves squad, new Under 21 coach and former North Geelong player Ante Skoko will have his hands full working with the regions potential. With Ante Sarcevic by his side the two will work with the young men to provide them high quality education in football and club culture so that the lads know what to expect in the time to come as they work towards their ambitions.
Juniors and Women’s pre season will commence in the coming weeks, so please stayed tuned on the web and emails to find out the latest. Remember for boys and girls between 8 and 18 years of age who are after a high quality coaching camp, the Dinamo Zagreb Academy are coming to Geelong and it starts on the 8th of Feb. Please contact Vlado Roksa 0408 297 379 or Josip Zilic 0431 254 676 for details.
Good luck to all during the pre season, we wish the players and coaches well and look forward to the pre season matches including the Go For Your Life Cup to witness what we’ll expect in 2010.
Welcome to everyone, from the committee of North Geelong Soccer Club.
