NORTH Geelong’s under-15 side capped off a near-perfect year for the club on Sunday with promotion to the Super League.

The Warriors’ senior team also won its way into State League one on the same day, making it the region’s strongest club.

The club’s under-15 A squad capped its promotion with a 10-0 win over Melton.

They will now represent Melbourne’s west in the under-16 Super League, the state’s top junior competition.

Warriors junior co-ordinator, Joe Madunic, expects the success to attract a host of young talent to the club.

In addition to the Super League opportunities, State League one requires clubs to field and under-21 team.

“Hopefully there’ll be a lot of talk around Geelong and hopefully during summer, instead of having 15 kids trying out we might have 25 or 30,” Madunic said.

“Some of those 15-year-olds who have qualified for the Super League next year will be also playing under-21s.

“All our junior kids have got something to aspire to now.”
