ROUND 9 – North Geelong Warriors vs Thomastown Devils

This Saturday 30th May, we see the North Geelong Warriors taking on Thomastown at home Elcho Park. Reserves at 1pm and Seniors at 3pm.  It will be an interesting tussle, the two teams are only 2 points apart on the ladder.  Thomastown’s form has been patchy but, on their day they can be dangerous.  North Geelong has been able to score freely until last week and we’ll be looking forward to seeing that form return this week.

Sunday 31st May, our Women’s team take on Western Suburbs at home at 11am, a win here will see them back in the top 4.  That match is followed by a local derby between North Geelong under 15s vs GRFA.  If the boys win this they will be on top of the ladder. Good luck to all squads including all our juniors who are playing well and enjoying themselves.

The shuttle bus service will be in operation on Saturday, pickups commence at 12:30 and run until 2pm.  First pick up point is the Australian Croatian Association “The Dom” in Separation St, then it’s up Hedgeley Rd and the pick up point is the reserve between Manooka and Nicole Crts, followed by Steve Najda’s Cellarbrations and lastly the Croatian Community Centre on the Cnr of Cox and Mathews Rds.  Drop offs are after the game at 5:30pm.  Free for 2009 members, $5 for non members.  The bus service does cost the club to use. If there isn’t a sudden increase in supporters this week, using the service we will need to cancel it, rather than paying for something which we could better use the funds towards.  If you enjoy a drink or two with your friends or just had enough of driving around why not get on board.

 

We wish Club Captain Mijo Trupkovic and his fiancé Janelle Ryan all the best for their upcoming wedding on the 6th of June.
